SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Job Description

To raise mental health awareness among students to reduce symptoms, improve functioning, and equip them with skills to manage psychological issues. It promotes well-being and socialization, fostering learning and preventing school dropouts.

Main Responsibilities

Supervision

  • In each group (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary and High School), the psychologist is responsible for assessment and monitoring of a child’s psychological support, behaviour problem and poor school issue performance

Preventive & Intervention Action

  • Develop and psychological problems such as somatic symptoms, anxiety, depression, and psychotic symptoms. Discuss with supervisors and refer externally if medication is needed
  • Assist students with intellectual limitations, learning disabilities, attention problems, and behavioural or emotional issues
  • Educate on abnormal psychosocial situations linked to mental health problems
  • Collaborate with pedagogy, social workers, family, and school life for information on student behaviour patterns and signs
  • Conduct assessments, psychoeducation, and counselling. Promote self-care and mental health awareness, and prevent student dropout
  • Collaborate with CG Department to connect students VTC programs to address poor studying and intervene based on life events

Reporting

  • Maintain Excel tables for review by Dr. reference, health manager, and supervisor
  • Complete a psychological report for each session
  • Summarize mid-year and yearly psychological activities

Meeting

  • Participate in department, staff, psychological team, health department, social and psychological monthly, parenting, class evaluation, and council/committee meetings
  • Engage in school events, workshops, and training
  • Follow an anticipated agenda displayed on Google Calendar, and be available for urgent on-call cases

Capacity building for staffs and team

  • Raising mental health awareness in school settings annually
  • Attending mental health workshops and meetings with NGOs and hospitals biannually
  • Practicing self-care through monthly sessions such as yoga, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques
  • Conducting case conferences and audits to share and address challenging cases, promote early intervention, and exchange experiences among psychologists

Profile Required

Degree in Psychology

3 years’ experience in the field

Good communication in English

Nationality: Cambodian (women are encouraged)

Qualifications and Skills Required

Dynamic, interpersonal skills, being able to deal with sensitive issues

Strong commitment to work with vulnerable/poor people

Adaptation, patience with children, Sense of responsibility

Ability to work with other professionals and in a team while respecting authority

Knowledge of assessments and psychological report

Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy

Computer Skills

Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and of the Pack Office in general

Kitchen Assistant

The Kitchen Assistant assists the Kitchen Team Leader in the preparation, cooking, and daily service of meals for approximately students & staffs. They contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards. Versatile and diligent, they participate in ingredient preparation, equipment maintenance, and provide necessary support for the smooth running of service.

Main Responsibilities

Meal Preparation and Service

  • Assist the Kitchen Team Leader in preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes
  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare necessary ingredients
  • Participate in assembling, portioning, and presenting dishes under supervision
  • Ensure proper temperature and presentation quality of meals served
  • Assist in setting up and clearing the service area

Ingredient and Equipement Management

  • Help with receiving and checking deliveries (quality, quantity, compliance with cold chain)
  • Store products correctly according to their type (dry, fresh, frozen)
  • Contribute to stock rotation and reduce food waste
  • Clean and maintain utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
  • Report any malfunctions, anomalies, or shortages of equipment to the Kitchen Team Leader

Strict Adherence to Hygiene and Food Safety Regulations

  • Strictly adhere to HACCP procedures and hygiene rules (traceability, temperature, cleanliness)
  • Maintain impeccable personal hygiene and wear the required uniform
  • Participate in the daily cleaning of the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment according to the established schedule
  • Assist in maintaining hygiene and tracking records

Organization and Teamwork

  • Work under the supervision of the Kitchen Team Leader and closely with on-site teams (dorm manager, dorm monitors…)
  • Communicate effectively to ensure good coordination during preparation and service
  • Support staff and students in learning procedures and hygiene rules
  • Demonstrate flexibility and assist with other tasks as needed

Continuous improvement

  • Contribute to gathering feedback on meals and improving menus
  • Show a willingness to learn new culinary techniques and participate in internal training
  • Display a positive attitude and commitment to the quality of service provided to students

Others

  • Adhere to the rules of the student home and regulations
  • Organize and participate in student home events, outings, and activities that may take place on weekends
  • Perform all other tasks as requested by the coordinator

School Life Monitor

Ensure student safety and order on the school grounds, manage and prevent disruptive behaviour from both students and non-students, and enforce rules based on guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

Supervision of students

  • Control the arrival of students. Check if the students wear their badge, proper uniform, clean shoes, hair tied up
    • No nail polish or make-up for the older students
  • Control students’ behaviour during flag raising ceremony
  • Take note of the latecomers and inform the Head of the school life
  • Follow up student absences by taking teacher absence reports and inform the Head of the school life
  • Supervise students during interclasses, extracurricular activities and mealtimes
  • Control, recall and reinforce collective life rules and internal regulations to the students
  • Listen to the students
  • Supervise students during supervised study sessions and detention
  • Monitor students every day at school exit point
    • Safety
    • Use of helmets
  • Evacuate the students, place them in safety in case of accident or fire and guide the emergency response team
  • Report problems and danger to the Head of the school life

Specific – At the primary school

  • Organize and supervise the students tooth brushing
  • Supervise pupils of level 1, 2 and 3 during their nap time
  • Monitor students in play activities library according to the timetables

Administrative ork in relation with the management

  • Assist in the organization and distribution of school uniforms, bags and materials before the beginning of the school year
  • Invigilate the exams
  • Assist in new pupils’ registration for the new promotion (Grade1)

Extra curriculum activities

  • Encourage, help and supervise educational or extracurricular activities (eg: students ‘clubs)

Others

  • Work in collaboration with other school services
  • Take part in school events, workshops, trainings, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening;(optional)
  • Work closely with the Head of the school life on students’ follow-up
  • Attend staff meetings
